Internet Services

Several internet options are available to Crooked Lake Reserve residents. Below is an overview of each service type, typical speeds, and links to check availability and sign up.

Xfinity (Cable)

Visit Xfinity →

Xfinity delivers internet over the same coaxial cable used for TV. It is widely available in the area and offers a range of plans. Performance is generally consistent and suitable for streaming, work-from-home, and multiple devices.

Typical speeds: Plan-dependent; often 100–200 Mbps on entry tiers up to 1,200 Mbps or higher on higher tiers. Check the Xfinity website for current plans and pricing at your address.

Cellular Home Internet (5G / LTE)

Major wireless carriers offer home internet over their cellular networks. A modem/router is installed at your home and uses the same network as cell phones. Availability and speeds depend on tower coverage at your address.

Verizon Home Internet Check availability →

5G and LTE options. Typical speeds range from about 50 Mbps to 300+ Mbps where 5G is strong.

T-Mobile Home Internet Check availability →

5G-based home internet. Speeds often in the 33–182+ Mbps range, varying by location.

AT&T Internet Check availability →

Fiber and fixed wireless options in some areas. Speeds and availability depend on your address.

Starlink (Satellite)

Visit Starlink →

Starlink provides internet via low-Earth-orbit satellites. It can be a good option where cable or fiber is limited. The dish needs a clear view of the sky to work properly.

Antenna placement: For best performance and to comply with community guidelines, Starlink antennas should be mounted at the rear of the home, with a clear view of the sky. Contact the ARB if you have questions about placement before installing.

Typical speeds: Often 50–200+ Mbps download; actual speeds vary with plan, obstructions, and network load. Latency is lower than traditional satellite internet.

Fiber Internet (Coming Soon)

Fiber-optic internet is planned for the area. Fiber typically offers symmetric upload and download speeds (e.g., 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps or more), low latency, and reliable performance - ideal for video calls, large uploads, and multiple users.

Status: Service is expected to become available from the provider in the future. Check with the HOA board or the provider’s website for rollout updates and when sign-up opens for Crooked Lake Reserve.

Choosing a Provider & Tips

  • Check your address: Use each provider’s website to confirm availability and plan options at your specific address.
  • Consider usage: Video calls, streaming, and work-from-home benefit from higher speeds and stable connections; cable and fiber usually offer the most consistent performance.
  • Equipment placement: For Starlink, follow the rear-of-home guideline and ensure a clear view of the sky. For cellular home internet, place the modem near a window or where signal is strongest.
  • ARB approval: Exterior equipment (e.g., Starlink dish, fixed wireless antennas) may require architectural review. Submit an ARB request before installing.
